The End of the Internet As We Know It
We take the web for granted, but our access to it can be snatched away at any time

A local disaster can cut off the power, your internet, and put you in life-threatening situations. It’ll be the worst possible moment to be cut off from life-saving information like FEMA survival instructions and medical guides.

Governments hold the power to censor, restrict, or even completely cut off the internet from its citizens.

The internet is a strangely fragile thing, and we’ve seen outages from both manmade accidents and attacks. And now with ‘Doomsday AI models’ like Claude Mythos being leaked, it’s at its most vulnerable yet. Most are not worried anymore about the “if”, but of the “when”.

A homestead, a hike in the mountains, or even a total collapse of the grid. Answers to questions like “how to give birth” or “what plants are edible” can save lives.

When You'd Use It

Prepper Disk Versus Alternatives
"So why can't I just use..."
You'd need a forty-foot shipping container just to store a small fraction of the same information in printed form, and even then you would be flipping through pages by hand, hoping you bought the right book before the shelves went empty.
Prepper Disk holds about 5 libraries of information in the palm of your hand, accessible from every device in the room the moment you power it on.
True, Prepper Disk actually runs on Kiwix under the hood. But Kiwix on your phone comes with nothing on it. Every piece of content is a separate download you have to find, vet, and pull down yourself before disaster strikes. That's hundreds of gigabytes and dozens of hours, assuming you even know what you'll need.
Also, Prepper Disk comes loaded with everything Kiwix can offer plus content you cannot assemble yourself: survival guides by Ky Furneaux, purpose-built Quick References, a Morse code translator, and more. You'd also just have your phone, meaning you'd have to loan it out if someone needs information. Meanwhile your Prepper Disk can be shared wirelessly to 20+ devices.
Hey, DIY can be fun. But it's all the same content assembling as with Kiwix... PLUS also taking on the hardware build, the server setup, and the ongoing updates, with no support. Prepper Disk is that same foundation, already assembled and tested, with exclusive content loaded on top.
Stashed With 7,000+ Households
From homesteaders to prepared families, here's what people are saying.

This device is a must have in a disaster situation. I can have the library of Alexandria in my hands using the USB feature with an external drive on multiple devices. If I could give Prepper Disk six stars, I would.

WOW! Firstly, the customer service is above and beyond fantastic. When I encountered a delivery hiccup I reached out to the company and Adam responded promptly and thoughtfully.

Within seconds I was connected on my mini PC and my phone. It's really a pretty amazing device. The Pi is USB-C powered so it makes it super easy to take on the go, in the car, or in my comms trailer. It's well organized and easy to find everything.

Why We Built This

Hi, Adam here! That's me in the workshop that started it all.

After spending years as a software engineer, then a tech executive, eventually led me to board service with The Water Project, traveling to communities in Kenya to help build wells and water infrastructure.
What struck me was watching schools trying to teach computer science on chalkboards because they had no electricity or world wide web.
And yet, by offline storing pieces of the internet, those kids kept learning anyway.
So it hit me:
If access to the right information can change lives in the most disconnected corners of the world…
… why don't we have something like that ready for when things go sideways closer to home?
I brought the idea to my oldest son, an outdoorsman and casual prepper.
And we started asking one simple question: what does the digital version of a prep actually look like?
We worked closely with survival experts and seasoned preppers to make sure everything on the disk was genuinely useful in the field.
The response since launch has honestly blown us away. Families, schools, even hardcore survivalists - all praising The Prepper Disk!
My wife, daughter, son and I still pack and ship every unit ourselves, right from home in Massachusetts.
And the fact that something that started on our workbench is now in 7,000+ homes around the world… that's something we're genuinely proud of.
Now it's up to you. What do you do?
This is not for you, so you decide not to get a Prepper Disk. Maybe you don’t believe information is vital. Or you do and you have volumes of books, guides, and maps already. But you don't need a digital backup in case of fire, or “pocket library” for when you need to abandon your house within 5 minutes because it’s about to be flooded.
Or maybe it’s too expensive? Then send us an email here and we’ll see what we can do.
Building a Prepper Disk yourself is doable. All you need is a Raspberry Pi, a durable case, all of the information on it which will take weeks to collect and download, build a UI, and then hope it all works smoothly.
Yes, it's doable for sure. I've done it myself, and if you want a challenging DIY project, go for it.
To be honest, it's a fun project, but it took me a tremendous amount of effort and troubleshooting to get the setup right, and the hours and frustration involved aren't really for everyone.
Over seven thousand people chose to have off-line internet delivered to their doorstep - plug & play in 60 seconds.
If you also pick this option, here’s what'll happen.
You hit our secure checkout, which notifies us of your order.
Then it's up to us! A family member or I will prepare your package in person.
And within 3 business days, we'll be shipping it out to you.
As soon as it arrives, the next steps are in your hands:
- Unpack.
- Plug it into the wall or a battery.
- Take your phone/laptop and connect to “PrepperDisk” WIFI.
- Type 10.10.10.10 in the search bar.
- And start exploring the content!

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, just shoot us a note at support@prepperdisk.com and we'll get right back to you.
Is there a subscription, or any kind of ongoing fee?
There are no subscriptions, no monthly fees, and no usage limits whatsoever. Once your Prepper Disk arrives, every single piece of content on it is yours to keep forever, and any future content updates we release are included at absolutely no extra cost.
Do I really need to be tech-savvy to set this up?
Not even a little bit. The Prepper Disk arrives fully loaded and ready to go, so all you need to do is plug it in, switch your phone or laptop's WiFi over to its private network, and start browsing like you would on any normal website. Most of our customers are completely up and running within five minutes of opening the box.
What happens when there is no electricity?
The Prepper Disk runs on a standard USB-C power source, which means a regular wall outlet, a car charger, a portable power bank, or even a (solar) generator will all do the job perfectly. The moment it has power, it creates its own private WiFi network and is ready to use within a few seconds.
How many devices can connect to a single Disk at the same time?
Up to twenty devices can be connected to a single Prepper Disk at once, which is more than enough capacity for a typical household, a small classroom, a community group, or even a fully off-grid homestead with extended family staying through an emergency.
How big is it, and is it durable enough to take outdoors?
The Disk measures 3.5 by 2.75 by 1 inches and slips comfortably into a jacket pocket, glove box, or bug-out bag. It lives inside a rugged aluminum case with passive cooling, which means there is no internal fan that could fail on you in dusty, sandy, or wet field conditions.
What about EMP events or electromagnetic interference?
We offer an optional Faraday Bag that protects the unit from EMP events and general electromagnetic interference, and it's something we'd genuinely recommend for anyone who wants to keep the Disk fully shielded and stored safely between uses.
What happens if it doesn't work out for me?
Every Prepper Disk comes with a 60-day return window, so if it doesn't end up making you feel safer, more capable, and more prepared, just email our team at support@prepperdisk.com and we'll send you the instructions to ship it back for a full refund. On top of that, every unit is covered by a one-year hardware warranty just in case anything ever does go sideways.
